A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a crash in Brixton.
The incident between a pedestrian and a car happened in Brixton Road just after 4.40am today (May 26).
Officers were called to the scene and found a man injured.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were assessed as not life threatening.
The driver of a car was arrested on suspicion of being unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.
Road closures were put in place as the incident was dealt with but have since reopened.
Police enquires continue.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Brixton Road, SW9 at about 4.41am on Friday 26 May following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital. His injuries have been assessed as not life threating or life changing.
“The driver of the car was arrested nearby, on suspicion of being unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving, in connection with the collision.
“A number of road closures were put in place while officers dealt with the incident. These have since been lifted.
“Enquires continue.”
