A man is to appear in court charged with multiple driving offences following a fatal crash in Lambeth.

Abdirahman Ahmed, 19, of Lilford Road, is due to appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today (May 27) charged with six driving offences, following Ahmed’s arrest on May 25.

The charges relate to an incident in Leigham Court Road on May 11, involving a crash between a car and a motorbike.

The motorcyclist, Ronaldo Medeiros De Oliveira, 44, died at the scene.

Ahmed will appear in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while driving uninsured, causing death while driving unlicensed, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving without insurance and driving not in accordance with a licence.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “A man will appear in court charged with driving offences following a fatal collision in Lambeth.

“Abdirahman Ahmed – 19 (11.06.03) of Lilford Road, SE5 will appear in custody at Croydon Magisitrates’ Court on Saturday, 27 May charged with: 

- causing death by dangerous driving; 

- causing death while driving uninsured;

- causing death while driving unlicensed;

- failing to stop at the scene of an accident;

- driving without insurance;

- driving not in accordance with a licence.

“Ahmed was arrested by officers on 25 May.

“The charges relate to an incident in Leigham Court Road, SW16 on Tuesday, 11 May following a collision between a car and motorcycle.

“The rider of the motorcycle, Ronaldo Medeiros De Oliveira, 44, died at the scene.”
