Andrew Penney has broken the sub-3:45 barrier in the 1,500m twice in just 10 days.
The athletic Club runner clocked 3:44.19 at the St Mary’s University Grand Prix on August 9, finishing ninth in the British Milers Club C race against a competitive field of professionals. He then recorded 3:44.44 just 10 days later.
Penney's performance moved him to third on the club’s all-time rankings. Archie Walton also impressed, winning the 800m J race in 1:53.51, close to his 2025 personal best.

Rafferty Haigh ran 3:56.65 to finish fifth in the 1,500m J race, narrowly missing his personal best of 3:56.17. Haigh currently sits seventh on the club’s under-20 all-time list.
Penney continued his form at the British Milers Club MarketAxess event in Tooting Bec, where he finished fifth in 3:44.44. That race featured professionals from Uruguay, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia.
Under-20 athlete Jack Hobden delivered a standout performance in the 3,000m B race, taking seventh place in 8:29.16. The result marked a 16-second improvement on his previous best and moved him to third on the under-20 all-time list.
Ruby Carter placed fifth in the women’s 3,000m A race, recording 9:34.96, while Charlie Eastaugh finished ninth in the 800m I race with a season’s best of 2:01.24.
At the Pacers 5000 held at Southwark Park on August 21, Sonny Nicoll shaved nearly a minute off his personal best, finishing fifth in 15:25.36.
George Mallett took second place in the same race with 15:18.95, and Richard Sun set a new personal best of 16:57.39 to finish 20th in race five.
In Northern Ireland, Finn Johnson secured ninth place in the Scrabo Hill Race in Newtownards, which covers 7.2km with 365m of ascent.
